Daily Sudoku — a Free 6×6 Puzzle Every Day

Every day at midnight UTC, Blip Daily drops one sudoku — a 6×6 board rather than the full 9×9, sized so a normal solve fits inside a coffee break instead of eating it. Everyone in the world gets the same board, which is what makes comparing results with a friend mean something.

It plays the way a good sudoku app plays: tap a cell, tap a digit, change your mind as often as you like. Your progress saves to the server as you go, so a locked phone or a switch to your laptop puts you back exactly where you left the board. When the grid is full, check it — the board tells you how many cells are wrong, but never which ones.

How the daily Sudoku works

  1. 1.Fill the grid

    Every row, every column and every 3×2 box must hold the digits 1 to 6 exactly once. The printed digits are fixed; everything else is yours. Tap a cell to select it — the board highlights its row, column, box and every matching digit, so you can scan for a conflict without counting squares.

  2. 2.Check when it's full

    The check button unlocks once every cell has a digit. A check tells you how many cells are wrong — not which ones. That count is the whole hint: finding the bad cells is still your job.

  3. 3.Aim for a clean solve

    Solve it on your first check and the day counts as a clean solve — the green square on your share card. Get there after multiple checks and it still counts, just in yellow. Stuck beyond saving? Give up, see the finished board, and take tomorrow's fresh.

Tips

  • Start with the fullest rows, columns and boxes — on a 6×6 a unit with four givens usually resolves in seconds, and each placement cascades further than it would on a 9×9.
  • Use the same-digit highlight deliberately: select any cell holding a 3 and every 3 on the board lights up, which is the fastest way to spot the unit that still needs one.
  • Don't spend a check as a hint. The wrong-cell count costs you the clean solve, and "2 cells are wrong" with no locations is a worse clue than one honest re-scan of the boxes.
  • The clock starts when you open the board, not when you first tap — so read the givens with intent from the first second.

A 6×6 keeps real sudoku logic — rows, columns and boxes all constrain each other — at a size that finishes in a few minutes. A daily habit survives on puzzles you can actually finish daily.
What happens if I close the tab mid-solve?
Nothing is lost. The board autosaves to the server as you fill it, so reopening the page — on any device with the same session — resumes exactly where you stopped.
