Daily Mini Crossword — Free, New Every Day
The Mini is Blip Daily's small crossword: a compact grid with a handful of clues, built to be finished — most days it falls in two or three minutes. A new one drops at midnight UTC and everyone gets the same grid, so "I got it in 1:40" actually means something in the group chat.
Entry is word-at-a-time, which is the part phone crossword players will feel immediately: tap a clue, type the whole answer, and it drops into the grid — crossing letters appear in the clues that share them. No fighting a software keyboard over one square at a time.
▶ Play today’s MiniHow the daily Mini works
1.Pick a clue, type the answer
Tap any clue (or any square — tapping a square twice toggles between its Across and Down clue) and type the whole word. The screen moves you to the next unfinished clue on its own, so a good run never needs a second tap.
2.Use the crossings
Every letter you place appears in the crossing word too. When a clue means nothing to you, fill its neighbours — three crossed letters turn most mysteries into fill-in-the-blank.
3.Check the full grid
Once every square is filled, check it. Like the daily sudoku, the grid tells you how many letters are wrong but not where — a first-check solve is the clean, green-square result; more checks still count, in yellow.
Tips
- Sweep the short answers first. Three- and four-letter slots have fewer candidates, and each one you land seeds letters into the long entries.
- Read a stuck clue's crossing clues before brute-forcing it — minis are built so the crossings carry you.
- The timer runs from the moment the grid opens, so if you care about a fast time, scan all the clues once and start with the ones you know cold.
- A wrong letter never blocks you: retype the word over it. The grid only judges you when you press check.
Frequently asked questions
- Is the daily mini crossword free?
- Yes — free to play in the browser, no app to install and no paywall. It's part of Blip Party's free daily puzzle line-up.
- When does a new mini come out?
- Every day at 00:00 UTC — one grid, the same for every player worldwide, with a countdown on the page to the next drop.
- Do I need an account?
- No. A guest session starts automatically when you play, and your streak lives on your device until you decide to claim a free account and carry it everywhere.
- How hard is it?
- Easier than a full-size cryptic, harder than a word search. The clues are general-knowledge and wordplay-light — the challenge is speed and crossings, not obscurity.
- Can I come back and finish later?
- Yes. The grid autosaves server-side as you type, so you can leave mid-solve and pick it up later the same day — even on another device with the same session.
