Quiz Hero is Blip Party's trivia game: a shared deck of four-option questions, everybody answering at once on their own screen, and a clock that pays you for being quick as well as right. It's the game to open a night with — no rules to explain, and everyone already knows how to play.
It runs entirely in the browser. The host picks a category and a question count, everyone else joins by typing a 4-letter room code on their own phone, and the questions appear on every screen simultaneously. Nobody installs anything, and only the host needs to make any decisions.

How to play Quiz Hero
The host opens a room
Hit start on Quiz Hero and you get a 4-letter room code plus a QR code. Share either one — the code is short enough to read out over a call, and the QR is faster if everyone's in the same room.
Everyone joins on their own device
Players type the code at blipparty.com, pick a name and a Blip avatar, and land in the lobby. Joining is free and needs no account: your progress is saved to the device, and you can claim a real account later without losing it.
The host sets the category and length
Before starting, the host chooses a question category and how many questions the round runs for, plus the Pace setting that stretches or tightens every timer in the game. Shorter and faster makes a punchy warm-up; longer and slower suits a proper quiz night.
Answer before the timer runs out
Each question shows the same four options on every screen. Tap one to lock it in — you can't change it, so the tension is real. The timer bar across the top is the same clock for everybody, and the round closes the moment it empties or everyone has locked in.
The reveal, then the next question
The correct answer lights up, you see what you scored, and the scoreboard reshuffles in front of everyone. After a short pause the next question loads automatically — the host can skip ahead early if the room is impatient.

How scoring works
A correct answer always scores. How much depends on how fast you locked it in: the points decay as the timer runs down, so answering in the first second is worth meaningfully more than scraping in at the end. A wrong answer scores nothing, but it never costs you points — guessing is always better than leaving it blank.
Consecutive correct answers build a streak, which is tracked across the whole game and shown on the reveal. Breaking a streak resets it to zero, which is what makes a late-game confident wrong answer sting.
There's no comeback mechanic and no doubling round: the scoreboard is the honest sum of what you answered and how fast. Whoever has the most points when the deck runs out wins.
Tips for winning Quiz Hero
- Answer fast on the ones you know. The speed curve means two quick certainties are worth more than three slow ones.
- If you're guessing anyway, guess immediately — a wrong answer costs nothing but a slow one wastes the speed bonus you'd have got if it happened to be right.
- Watch the scoreboard between questions. If you're behind late on, the only lever you have is answering faster, not more carefully.
- Hosting for a mixed group? Pick a general category rather than a specialist one — a category where one player knows everything ends the game as a contest by question three.
