Privacy Policy

Last updated 20 September 2026

Blip Party is a real-time party-game platform. This policy explains what we collect when you play or host, why, and the choices you have.

Who we are

“Blip Party” (“we”, “us”) operates the games and website at blipparty.com. For any privacy question, or to exercise your rights below, contact info@blipparty.com.

What we collect

  • Guest play. When you join a room we create an anonymous account tied to your browser/device so your name and look stick during play. It has no email and you don’t sign up.
  • Account info. If you want to keep your stats across devices, or use a custom avatar, you can create a real account with an email and password. You do not need one to play or to host. Passwords are stored hashed by our auth provider — we never see them in plain text.
  • Profile. Your display name, chosen avatar or doodle drawings, and accent color.
  • Gameplay content. The answers, votes, bluffs, guesses, drawings, in-room nicknames and similar content you submit while playing.
  • Game records. Scores, win/loss stats, streaks and head-to-head records linked to your account.
  • Support messages. If you use the Help & feedback form we store your message, any email you choose to leave, and technical context about where you sent it from (the page or room, game and stage, device type, app build) so we can reproduce what you saw. Bug reports are also linked to the matching error in our monitoring.
  • Purchases. If you buy an upgrade or subscription, our payments provider (RevenueCat, working with the relevant app store or payment processor) handles your payment details. We receive your purchase and subscription status — not your card number.
  • Technical data. Our hosting providers process basic connection data such as IP address and device/browser type to deliver the service and keep it secure.

What we don’t store

Some in-game signals are sent peer-to-peer in real time — live drawing strokes and guess chat — to make rooms feel instant. These pass through our realtime channel and are not written to our database.

How we use it

  • Run the games and keep rooms live in real time.
  • Sync your profile and stats across the devices you sign in on.
  • Process purchases and unlock host features.
  • Prevent cheating, abuse and disruption of rooms.
  • Respond to support requests.

Under the GDPR our legal bases are: performing our contract with you (to provide the games), our legitimate interests (security and anti-cheat), your consent where required, and compliance with legal obligations.

Who we share it with

We don’t sell your personal data. We share it only with the processors that run the service:

  • Supabase — database, authentication and realtime messaging.
  • Vercel and our hosting provider — serving the website and app.
  • Sentry — error monitoring, so we hear about crashes; room codes are removed before anything is sent.
  • RevenueCat and the relevant app store / payment processor — handling purchases and subscriptions.

We may also disclose data where required by law.

Cookies & local storage

We use only what the app needs to work: your session token to keep you signed in, and a local cache of your profile and doodles so your look loads instantly. We don’t run cross-site tracking of our own.

Advertising

Blip Party is free to play, and ads help keep it that way. We show one ad from Google AdSense on the waiting screens only — the room lobby, the “Get ready” splash before a game and the game-over screen — never during a round. Google may use cookies or similar identifiers to serve and measure those ads; where the law requires it (e.g. the EU/UK) you’ll be asked for consent first and can change your choice at any time. Google’s use of advertising data is described in its advertising policies. We never share your name, email, or what you did in a room with an ad network. Ad blockers are fine — the game works the same either way.

Keeping your data & your choices

We keep your account data until you delete it. You can edit your profile, and delete your account and all associated data, at any time from the Account page. Depending on where you live (e.g. the EU/UK under GDPR, or California under the CCPA) you also have the right to access, correct, export, restrict or object to our use of your data — email info@blipparty.com and we’ll action it.

International transfers

Our providers may process data outside your country, including in the United States. Where they do, they rely on appropriate safeguards such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.

Children

Blip Party isn’t directed to children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child has given us personal data, email info@blipparty.com and we’ll delete it.

Changes

We’ll update this page if our practices change and revise the “last updated” date above. Material changes will be highlighted in the app.
