Oddball gives you a letter and four categories and asks for an answer in each. The twist is that matching answers cancel: if someone else wrote what you wrote, neither of you gets anything.

How to play Oddball
The host picks the round count
Eight rounds is the default at 55 seconds each — the longest clock in the catalogue, because four answers takes thought.
A letter and four categories drop
Everyone gets the same letter and the same four categories.
Write one answer per category
Each has to start with the round's letter. Everyone writes at the same time, privately.
Matching answers cancel
Any answer two or more players wrote scores nothing for anybody who wrote it.
Lone answers win
The reveal groups the answers so you can see exactly which of your picks were too obvious.

How scoring works
Only unique answers score. An answer shared with even one other player is worth nothing to either of you.
That means a round where you write four obvious answers can score zero, while one weird answer can outscore it entirely.
Points accumulate across rounds and the highest total wins.
Tips for winning Oddball
- Skip your first thought in every category. It's almost always the shared one.
- Go for the specific over the general — a named example beats a category word nearly every time.
- Don't leave blanks chasing perfection. A shared answer scores nothing, but so does an empty box, and a slightly-odd answer might just survive.
- Keep your screen private. Anyone who sees your answers can simply write the same thing and cancel you out.
