Word Race gives everyone the same seven letters and tells you that one word uses all of them. Somebody is going to find it, and the only question is whether it's you.

The moment anyone types a valid all-letters word the round ends immediately and they take the points. There's no partial credit and no consolation — it's the most direct race in the catalogue.

How to play Word Race

  1. The host picks the round count

Five rounds is the default at 45 seconds each.

  2. Seven letters appear

The same rack on every screen.

  3. Hunt for the full-length word

Exactly one word uses all seven. Shorter words don't count for anything.

  4. First valid answer ends it

The round stops the instant someone lands it, and they bank the points.

  5. The answer is revealed

Everyone finds out what it was, which is usually worse than not knowing.

What Word Race looks like

A Word Race rack showing the letters A E I N R S T, one word using all seven.
Seven letters, one full-length word. The first player to find it ends the round.

How scoring works

Only the player who finds the seven-letter word scores. There's no partial credit for shorter words, which is what makes the race so sharp.

Because the round ends on the first valid answer, a fast solver can end it before slower players have finished reading the rack.

Points accumulate across rounds and the highest total wins.

Tips for winning Word Race

  • Look for common endings first — ING, ERS, IEST. Anchoring the tail cuts the search dramatically.
  • Group the consonants and see what the vowels can do between them.
  • Rearrange physically if you can — shuffling the letters on screen breaks the pattern your eye has locked onto.
  • Type candidates as they occur to you. Being wrong costs nothing, and typing sometimes surfaces the word you couldn't see.

About 5 minutes at the default five rounds.

Is it free?

Yes, free to play and free to host, and joining needs only the 4-letter code.
