Tall Tales is two truths and a lie, run properly. Each round one player writes three stories about themselves — two true, one invented — and the rest of the room votes on which is the fib.
Because the stories are about the person telling them, it's the game that generates the most actual conversation. Half the round is the vote; the other half is everyone demanding to hear more about the one that turned out to be true.
Read the bluffs face to face; shield your screen while you mark the lie.

How to play Tall Tales

Six rounds is the default, so the spotlight gets around the room more than once.
One player becomes the storyteller
The role rotates every round. Only they write.
They write three tales
Two true, one invented, all about themselves. The lie should be bold enough to be interesting and plausible enough to survive.
The room votes on the lie

The reveal settles it
The lie is exposed, and the two truths usually need explaining.
What Tall Tales looks like

How scoring works
The storyteller scores for every player they fool, so a well-built lie pays per person taken in.
Voters score for correctly identifying the lie, so both sides of the round have something to play for.
The role rotates evenly and points accumulate, so the winner is whoever performs best in both seats.
Tips for winning Tall Tales
- Make your lie boring and your truths outrageous. Everyone hunts for the most dramatic story, so the invented one should be the dullest.
- Add a specific detail to the lie — a place name, a number, a date. Invented stories are usually vaguer than real ones, and people know it.
- As a voter, ask a follow-up question. Nobody rehearses the details of a lie they made up ninety seconds ago.
- This one is best face to face or on a call — the follow-up interrogation is where the round actually pays off.
