A correct tap banks points scaled by speed, so recognising the link quickly is worth substantially more than working it out slowly.
There's no penalty for a wrong tap beyond the time it costs, so a considered guess is better than running the clock out.
Points accumulate across rounds and the highest total wins.
Tips for winning Trio
- Test each candidate against the hardest clue word first. The obscure one eliminates wrong candidates fastest.
- Try the link both before and after each clue. Some pairings read one way round and some the other.
- Say the pairs out loud in your head. Common phrases are recognised by ear far faster than by reasoning.
- Don't over-think the third word. Two clean pairings almost always means you've found it.
